Appearance: Short, and with cropped black hair and bright blue eyes. Effeminate looking but can be mistaken for a boy if you're not looking properly.
Series/Background: Yuffie grew up in the middle of the Shinra-Wutai war, and watched in horror as her country fell to the more advanced corporate super-power. Her mother was killed during one of the battles while Yuffie was looking on, and from that came Yuffie's determination to beat Shinra into the ground.
But her father, Godo was no help. For all Yuffie could see, he was just content to let Wutai wither away into nothing and become naught but a tourist attraction. Incensed, Yuffie was quick to leave and set out on her journey to save Wutai... Mostly by stealing materia from anybody who looked like they could afford to lose some.
It was on this journey she met Avalanche. Driven by the desire to save Wutai, Yuffie had become selfish and more bratty than ever, and betrayed her new travelling companions. After that incedent was over she was allowed to travel with them again, and this time she, while Wutai was still her number one, she found that she enjoyed having true friends. And she was, after unceremoniously kicking Godo and the Pagoda lords asses to win the Leviathan materia.
The next few years saw the most change in her. The defeat of Sephiroth and the Meteor crisis in Midgar forced her to grow up and take more responsibility than she thought she was ready for, but she did it anyway (a little more willingly on the promise of materia for her efforts). Afterwards she was prodded into working with the WRO under Reeve, and quickly settled into intelligence, reconissance and espionage work. This came especially in-handy with the Geostigma crisis, wherein she was helped attempt to track missing children (especially Wutaian ones) and later grouped together with Avalanche to stop Bahamut destroying Edge.
She also played a major role in the Deepground war, frequently offering back-up to Vincent Valentine and doing her own work for the cause. She, like the other Avalanchers, was present at the battle outside of Midgar and was the one to shut off Mako Reactor Zero after infiltrating it.
Over the years Yuffie has been forced to mature quite a lot. Her fighting skills make her more than a formidable opponent, though her innate ability to bounce right back is her biggest asset. Even with all that she's lived through, Yuffie has kept a good portion of her Yuffie-like nature... fiery, playful and a love for all things shiny.
